I'm running an Athlon 64 X2 5600+ with XP Pro 32bit. Is it possible to do an upgrade to XP 64bit or do I have to do a fresh install?

Doesn't matter if you can or can not.

You should do a fresh install of 64 bit. Few people would ever recommend upgrading an OS to a higher version. At least with Windows. Its tailored too much.

But I don't think you can upgade from 32 to 64 - I think its just a fresh install because everything in the core is different. I could be wrong though.
