Mouse + keybd stopped working

i was trying to install ut 2004 but it wouldnt let me install open the cd drive to insert disc 2 tghan i was told to type
sudo chmod ugo-rwx /usr/sbin/hald /usr/lib/libhal-storage.so.1 and after reboot mouse or keyboard dont work how can i fix
?

on a side note ib4 this problem happend i copied the installer to desktop it still wouldnt let me swap cvds but it doesnt matter if i cant use keyboard or mouse lol

chmod the files back to system defaults and undo everything else you did.

Who told you to chmod /usr/sbin/hald and /usr/lib/libhal-storage.so.1 ?

If your keyboard isn't working you can try to ssh from another computer on your lan or boot single.
