Dialing your ISP with V551

FWIW, I finally got my V551 to dial my ISP (and anyone else I wanted).
I've been having problems with this for two weeks and nobody could
help. Most of the help I got dealt with accessing the internet through
Cingular. That's not what I wanted. I wanted my Palm to use the 551 as
a modem to dial my ISP. After going around and around with Palm,
Motorola and Cingular, I finally found Angelica at Cingular who solved
the whole problem:

Add a + at the beginning of the phone number

Amazing. Apparently, the + turns on the "Data Line" feature. Without
that, the phone takes the modem setup string and tries to dial it. I
would get a dee-dee-dee unable to dial tone.

With the +, everything worked fine. I don't know if there's anyone
else with this problem but thought I'd get it out. Good luck,
