Hi everybody, My friend had installed linux 9.2 os and the blessed thing is not booting even when logged with the correct login and password details which is given in the startup screen itself. I tried all funny things and logical ways still the linux guy refuses to yeild. My friend insists that the name and password are the same. I am now laid with this os and my pc lying idle/ Can anuone just advice me.

Which distribution of Linux?
As it's a new install, can you just re-install and take carefull note of the user-name and password used (take carefull not that the keyboard layout is correct).

No offence to your friend, but just because he insists that the username and password are correct doesn't mean they are. Also, as MrLinux said, we need to know the distribution.
