Erasing and Burning a CD

Ok, so I have this CD with a lot of random crap written on it. I would like to delete everything on it and burn some music on it so I can give it to someone. Can somebody please tell me how to do this? Thanks

Unless it a it's a rewritable CD I don't think it can be done
