Whats a good linux distro to run on a xp 2500, I want to use it to learn linux mainly, but if i learn it what to set up a media server that'll store files for my xp/windows 7 computers

Fedora and Ubuntu are good choices.

If you're hardcore Debian or *BSD.

If you have an athlon xp 2500 you'll need an i386/i686 distribution since the CPU is not 64bit.

Good luck :)
