Messger service pop up alerts all the time

Hello, for a mistake in our backup, our server keeps popping up messenger services alerts asking for a backup tape. We try to disable the service of messenger but this doesn't stop the old alerts, and when we push te ok button, another alert pops up to the screen asking the same, because the task is not completed. So we can't push the ok button millions of times, i need an advice to stop the popping of the alerts. Disabling the services is not working. Restarts the server is not an option and the operating system is windows server 2000. Thanks
