How to start boot disc at startup

Hello, I did have disc in at startup but nothing. tried in Dos "run" but tells me to go to controll panel to do that. the problem is I lost the admin pass to work on my comp. need to delete some programs cause drive is so full but can without admin status, so I bought a boot disc but cant seam to get to run. system is 2000 pro. help???

What disk did you get? You can download a free Linux distro that runs off a CD to go through the file system and delete what you need to. Your Windows CD can also boot you to a command prompt, but that will probably ask for an admin account.

How are you even working with the PC with no admin account, you'll need it to install/remove many things.
