[Solved] Transferring game installations between Windows installs

Forum Windows Vista : General Discussion [Solved] Transferring game installations between Windows installs

I'm running Windows XP Pro at the moment but also have a 64-bit installation of Vista on a second hard drive. I was wondering if there was a way I could somehow transfer my game installations to vista easily, instead of re-installing them. Re-installing wouldn't be a problem but patching is. I'm a Wow player and I really don't want to leave my computer on all day downloading updates from when Burning Crusade was released.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

If you still have the downloaded zip files, you should be able to drag them from the XP drive to the Vista drive. Then install locally. If you don't, then places like File Planet have the updates at FAR FAR FAR FAR greater download speeds than Blizzard's POS Bit Torrent setup.

WoW runs very well on my V64 box. Though I gave up what used to be my main back in May: Raiding and grinding for the mats for pots and gear and....... got to be too much of a time sink. Tried to go casual, but I'm an all or nothing kind of player. You could see what kind of a real life problem that could cause in a game like WoW. So no more MMO's for Scott.
