Win98se usb driver

Hello,
Please I need help. I have a P3 with win98se installed. When I plug the flash drive into the usb port it don't pick it up.
What could the problem be.

Phill the memory stick is 4gig. Oops I dont know how it is formatted.
Sorry.
The stick works fine on P4 pc with XP installed but just don' work on P3 with win98se.

Put it in the XP machine and look at the properties. If it is formatted with NTFS it will not work with Windows 9x/ME.
