I'm having problems getting XP Pro 64 installed. I have a Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R motherboard and an "OEM" Western Digital WD1500ADFD Raptor hard drive. I've downloaded the SATA drivers for my hard drive from Gigabyte and cannot get through the F6 screen when it says to upload the SATA drivers. I press "enter" to upload the drivers with my external Mitsumi USB FDD and after a second or two, it returns to the original "upload drivers" screen. The FDD posts when I turn on the computer. I tried slipstreaming the drivers using nLite and the BIOS doesn't recognize the copied CD. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance,
Matt

You do not need to load SATA drivers at the F6 prompt unless you are doing a RAID configuration. In BIOS set the first boot device to 'dvd'. insert the Win XP 64 CD into the tray. Save and exit BIOS. At the 'press any key to boot form CD' prompt on reboot, press any key. Format and load your OS.

Got to "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed on your computer" screen as I first did on XP Pro 64 installation. Have double checked all connections as well to make certain they are correct. Maybe I have a bad hard drive???

Download Western digital safeguard tools and format the hard drive with a floppy boot with safeguard tools. After you format your HD, install the OS.

If your system still does not find the HD, use a different sata cable. Be sure you have power to the HD. Use a different cable there to.
