RHEL5 is primarily for servers and will not recognize the latest and greatest hardware.

Is there a reason you want RHEL5?

A desktop distribution like Fedora 11 or Ubuntu 9.10 should work a lot better.

If you really really really have to have RHEL5 try RHEL 5.4 there is a chance it might work.

RHEL 5.0, 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 probably won't work.

Good luck :)

Great point amdfangirl :)

Xen, KVM, Virtualbox and VMware should all work perfectly on a Linux host ( Fedora or Ubuntu, etc ) with RHEL 5 as the guest.

Virtualbox is probably the easiest of them all to setup, it'll take you about 15 minutes.

Head over to http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads download the fedora 11 rpm

rpm -i VirtualBox-3.0.8_53138_fedora11-1.x86_64.rpm

And follow the rest of the instructions.

Good luck :)
