Problem is if you stay with XP forever, Microsoft is gonna leave you in the dust.

So this exhaustive test shows XP twice as fast as Vista, case closed? Oh wait. This was one benchmark, and on MS office at that. Well, at least we know these guys software runs better on XP. I think I'll need a little more data on this before I make the blanket statement that XP is 2x faster.

Funny how all these blogs and headlines about this, including the OP, simply state that XP is twice as fast as Vista, with no qualifications. I use both everyday and I can tell you that any speed difference is marginal at best, so long as you have modern equipment.

I never think WinXP is twice is faster than the vista , though it can defeat the vista in the same computer from some amount. But I don't it will be much as 2x

In my opinion XP SP3 is not twice as fast overall, but XP is more responsive from my experience on using both.
