My computer has been defragging for 2 hours now. I have a single 160gb drive with 30gb used. What could possibly take so long? Stupid Vista has no progress bar or anything, just a stupid "this could take from a few minutes to a few hours". What kind of crizap is that?

I just set the onboard defrag program on a once a week schedule and leave it to itsself. If I want a quick defrag of my HD's I use this free software on my Vista systems.

I agree with Badge, I use auslogics as well, works great, fast, and is free. Highly reccomend it, like it a lot better than vista defrag.

thanks i'll try that

EDIT: Hey that was awesome, only took a couple minutes too! Appreciate that. Have you tried the Auslogics boost speed? I saw the ad for it during the defrag. It says its free too.

oh yeah, if you look on download.com, auslogics also has a free registry defrag program.

Try ausologics. The Vista defrag is so annoying, I dont know when its gonna stop and why it takes so long.
