I have three old dell anspiron 8000 running windows 2000 and have the same problem on all of them. I get a small screen, and it says the driver is not installed. When I try to install the drive it won't let me. Can anyone help me?

But you asked for help in installing them. Install using the ones from the web site, I had some trouble with some that windows update gave me. Also revove the old ones first. Lets us know in detail what happens. good luck
