I seem to be unable to install any programs I download for my HP ipaq hx2755
handheld. It is running windows 2003 mobile 2nd edition. Anytime I try to
execute and installation I get an error that states "{program} is not a
valid Pocket PC application".

Thank you,
Chelle

Sync your Pocket PC to your desktop/notebook and run the installer on the
Windows XP (or 2000) PC. It will install the app remotely using ActiveSync.

What program(s)? Some you run on your PC while the ppc is connected, others
copied to the ppc and ran from there. It seems you are running it from the
wrong place.

There are two ways to install programmes on a PPC. If the prog. is a
setup (eg .exe), then you install it while synced to the PC you use as
the Partner. Just install as for any programme on the PC, and Windows
will do the rest, installing it on the PPC for you, that is, you don't
move the file over to the PPC yourself.
If the prog. comes as a .cab file, then you move that over to a PPC file
location, then tap on the file in that location, and it will self
extract and install to the default location. The error message is
indicative of you having moved a setup file to the PPC.
