A friend of mine just ordered a gaming computer along with Windows vista home premium 32bit.
He did not order a videocard with it, he plans to use his existing 7950gt. Obviously, DX10 will not work with a 7950gt. Can you game on windows vista with DX9?
If you can't, he is in trouble. Can anyone answer this question?
Should he have any issues running games on Vista then simply run them in XP compatibility mode. (Though this has nothing to do with DX)
DX 10 only comes into play if you have a DX 10 enabled game. At present there are precious few and those that have it also run in DX 9 versions (with very rare exceptions).
It's still a non-issue but with Vista at least you have it for when more games take advantage of it.
