I have a question. My neighbor, is wanting to get on my wired network, how, i have no ports left on the back, however, i do have an old, linksys wired router befsr41, that i am not using at all. The wireless router that i am using now, is a wrt54gs, on the back of the wrt54gs, i have my wifes computer, a nas file server from linksys, 1 ip web cam, one small computer, that i use to store everything that i download. Yes, thats moreless like a 2nd nas file server, I do have a few more things that i would like add to it as well. I just want to know, how if at all possible to add the second router, i did see that on the back of it, it does have an uplink port on it. what is that used for?
Use a cross-over cable to connect router-to-router and just disable the DHCP on the 2nd router. If that fails, just make your neighbor go out to an electronics store and buy a $20 hub.
