After installing Vista I cannot play any video files or games. As soon as I try to play a video media player crashes and as soon as I try to run a game it crashes. My mp3s however play without any problems. I have updated all my drivers and installed all windows updates. I have tried running dxdiag but it crashes unless I bypass system information, directsound, and directshow.

Well first off MP3's will have nothing to do with your video card... so dont let that get you off track. It sounds like nothing video related is working at all on your system. When it crashes what error message does it show you? You mentioned that you upgraded to Vista.. did you do so from XP SP2? Did you have alot of foreign video codecs installed on your XP OS before you did the upgrade?
My apologies, I should have stated that Vista was installed on a clean partition so there should be no foreign codecs installed. The error message I get just says "*.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I have reformatted and reinstalled twice now. I also found out I cannot play .wav files as well however all the windows sound effects are working fine.
------------------------------Which Chip? Well, it depends on which set of thieving b@stardz you choose to support: The ones who use insider trading to enrich themselves while running their company into the ground? Or the ones who illegally pay vendors to not support the first group?
