Font size TOO small screen resolution problem

Forum Linux/Free BSD : General Discussion Font size TOO small screen resolution problem

I installed ubuntu from my USB. I like the feel of it so far but im having two major problems. One the font size is VERY small. Ive edited the appearance section, themes, font. The fonts in firefox and opera browser stay the same.. small. The tool bar is even smaller. Any hints on how I can fix this? perhaps its a bug?

The writing and background when search results come up in browsers are wayyy to dim. Everything else like applications places system etc.. are a perfect brightness. What could it be? Tried setting resolution and its still the same. Starting to hurt my eyes really lol.

Using karmic koala ubuntu.
Using integrated 4200 graphics.

Try ubuntu 9.04 or 9.10 or fedora 11 instead.

Ubuntu 7.04 is rather old and will not have support for the latest hardware.

Good luck :)

Karmic Koala is 9.10.

@Rig1 - Can you tell us what HW you are running this on and at what screen resolution. Also does the old Ctrl+ allow you to up the font size to sensible levels in FireFox?

@Rig1 do you have a picture of what you're seeing that you can share?

As audiovoodoo mentioned Ctrl+ will increase your font size in firefox.

Ctrl Shift+ will increase the font size in the terminal.

System Preferences Appearance lets you change the default system fonts and their sizes.

Good luck :)
