i have a question, i'm ready to install windows xp on a brand new sata hard drive, and i know that i need a floppy drive to install the drivers. Since i don't have a floppy, can i use a usb memory stick and install the driver there? Or what are the options if i don't have a floppy drive.
thanks

The best solution is to integrate your SATA drivers into your XP installation CD. You need to make an ISO of the installation CD using PowerISO or similar, copy the drivers to it, and edit TXTSETUP.SIF according to the instructions here:

I have made customized XP installation CDs for my SATA hard drive and it worked for me. Incidentally the XP setup program will not detect an LS120 drive as a source for the SATA drivers.
