Dear Friends,

I have windows 2K3 server with oracle database.I have made the scripts to run in a scheduled task.
Problem is this schedule task runs but it some times does not take the backup of dmp files.
For more info i have given the schedule log which is given below.

hmm by any chance is it trying to connect to a network drive? and is the server always on?

im thinking you should force a gpupdate /sync at the begining of the script to ensure that all drives are connected properly before trying to make backups.

Hello,

I forgot to write that this backup has been scheduled at night 2:00pm and the device where it is backing up is a usb external hard drive seagate 500gb.

the problem ive got, if i understand correctly is that the script sometimes works and sometimes does not?

could it be that you have several network drives set up and the usb drive is retaining a letter already used by a network drive, sometimes the network drive will appear and others the usb... try changing them within computer management.
