Whilst installing Windows Service Pack 2 Half way through the installation I get the error "Cannot write to database" Is there any way I can fix this?

Slipstream SP2 into your Windows XP CD.

Does the machine still boot?
The SP2 should create a restore point. When the machine starts to boot hit F8 and choose last known good configuration. Then try reinstalling the SP, also make sure you have enough free space on your HDD.
