Our 5 year old Dell server is starting to show its age. We are having trouble downloading a few of the .net security updates and may have tracked the problem to a corrupted/missing .net 1.x file.
Unfortunately, we no longer have the original OS media and Microsoft is unable/unwilling to provide a replacement copy; they claim Server 2003 is out of production and therefore they cannot release any more media. I have tried downloading the .net 1.x file from Microsoft but when I try to install it, I get an error saying that the .net file is already installed. I tried searching for the file, but can never find it; that's what led me to believing this file is corrupted.
I'm at a loss right now. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about fixing this issue?
