Chat Server? in search for

Ok so I am trying to find some sort of webchat application, nothing fancy & free is preferred, that I could install on my PC/Server at home and host myself. I have a DDNS service set and only use for RDP at the moment. I'd like to host a small and simple chat site from my machine so that me and my friends can jump on whenever we please. No need to use or install AIM or any of that stuff. Maybe something with some sort of security or login would be nice, but not needed. I block all ports exept what is needed and have a software firewall.
