Ubuntu problem: my wifi doesn't work help me plz

I have dell inspiron 1501 I just installed Ubuntu 9.10 through Wubi. But I cant get my wireless to work. When I look at the top right icon it says device not ready or something like that this is what I got when I typed in the -C netwrok command:

So can anyone help me get my wifi working.

I have the same issue with my Dynex USB Wifi stick.

Have you tried ndiswrapper? It didn't work for me, but it might for you.

Always try the Live CD environment BEFORE you install anything to ensure everything works the way you want it to.
