More Information

Tearing my hair out..... !

One day, my DVD drive just started not reading applications, but still reading data.

Naturally assumed that it was the drive which was about three yrs old, so installed a brand new Pioneer one with updated firmware from Pioneer site.

Still no luck.

Thinking that it may be a virus / worm etc cleaned it three times

Still no luck.

Re-installed XP over the top of the old copy

Still no luck.

Reformatted the C: and installed XP

Still no luck.

The annoying thing is that it works fine if I boot into Safe Mode.

Anyone experienced this ???

Thanks,

Simondiliberto.
