As the title says... any ideas?

Tried GIMP 2.4, its doing it now, taking ages and it's not progressing.

Help?

you just want to look at a picture,i thought that gimp was "nix" based systems, oh well for what ever it's worth, i use acdc for all my pics..
check out,, majorgeeks.com ,,they might have something that you will like/can use.:> )
