i am new to POSTING in the forums...not new to TOMSHARDWARE
the problem is...friend of mine downloaded a (keygen program) and ran it...suddenly his machine is not booting into windws..just reboots itslelf...he cant find the book that came with his xp cd....is there a way to find the cd key ON THE CD ITSELF???...i had someone else mention win.sif to me...cant find that anywhere on my machine...or on my cd...he looked on his cd o another machine at his house and no luck either...is there any help for us out there to get his machine back up???..thanx in advance

There is no key on the Windows CD. It's a seperate piece of paper unless he's using a pirated copy of XP Pro. Guess he's SOL.

There is a program called Belarc Advisor That is free.
You can install it on a computer and then when you run it you can see your Windows key number on the display or the printout should you print it. This would mean that the computer you want the key number from would have to be operational. If you can get it to run long enough to run Belarc Advisor then your in luck.
