im looking to set up a cheap linux box solely for watching and recording tv on, with a tuner card. i was wondering what linux distro i should use. I've been using kubuntu for some time now and love it. but any suggestions on a better distro for this would be greatly appreciated.

Yea, I've heard about mythbuntu before. but can it do other things? or is it solely for tv things?

As far as I know, it's simply Ubuntu with MythTV and other multimedia software installed?

Yup, Pyroflea is right as far as I know. :)

mythdora and mythbuntu are fully functional although you may need to adjust the interface a little.

You can also install mythTV and other multimedia apps inside the regular version of Fedora or Ubuntu, it will just take a little extra configuration.

Good luck :)

Yeah, just install Mythbuntu and then install any other software you want from the Ubuntu repositories.
