i'm going back in my issues to find what cpu said about this a while back, but i'm up and running alright now and i'm thinking it's about time to get some virus protection etc. software loaded on this baby and run some scans for nasty stuff just in case.

any suggestions on software for my new build to protect and fix?

Theres a review on cnet of all the popular malware suites this is there top pick, i use this also.
