More Information

My computer used to boot up very fast, under one minute from when I hit the on button til the desktop was loaded, but recently it has gottenvery slow. It goes along fine until right after welcome screen, it stalls for about 2-5minutes and then finally my desktop/icons appear. I only have three programs that auto start at boot, NOD32, Spysweeper, ATI tray tool and I only have about 7 or 8 icons and a plain black backround on my desktop. I tried all the usual fixes for slow boot speeds, I disabled all unneeded services, cleaned all junk/temp files and registry with CCleaner, did a full defrag with PerfectDisk8, setup a static Ip adress....etc but nothing seems to help. The Xp instalation is pretty fresh, only about a month old and the system is reasonably fast, 4200x2, 2gigs ddr500, 74gig Raptor system drive, 300gig storage drive, ATI AIW800xl, Xfi Xtreme music, Silverstone Zues 650w, Coolermaster Centurion5. PLease help im frustrated and im almost ready to just do a clean XP install
