I was fooling around with PCLinux OS and was using my son's computer to install it on a USB drive I had hooked up to it. Somehow or other I managed to screw it up and erased his Windows boot partition! Actually, when I look at it in Linux it shows it as a Linux partition now. I have this friggin cold and having a terrible time concentrating. I should have waited, but it's done. I know there must be some way to restore it, but I can't think of anything. Can somebody help me out here?

Thanks.

Could try a Windows Repair off the CD. I believe Linux runs on something other than NTFS and Partition Magic will convert the partition to NTFS without formatting the drive, I believe. Been a long time since I had to do it. Worse comes to work can always format and do a clean install. If your kid is like mine grandkids are when I screwed something up on their machine, you'll never hear the end of it :(

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.........OK.
Here goes......get hold of Acronis disk director and use the CD to "restore" your kids XP partition. Will take time.....so hold your horses.
If that doesn't work OR you don't wanna try it do a erase disk and a clean install.
