I am trying to install linux on new VAIO laptop with pre-loaded windows 7. Once linux has been installed, it worked in the same session.
Next time onwards neither Linux nor Windows 7 work. In fact once switched on to boot nothing appear. I had to go to Sony service station to get everyting re-installed for Windown 7 as it comes pre-loaded. Is there any ocumentation available to install linus without disturbing existing Windown 7 OS?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Which linux? There are lots of guides for most of them.

You might have messed up the partitions. Like audiovoodoo said, it depends on the distro, but I once erased my windows by mistake with the ubuntu install partition editor. However, I don't think that this would explain linux not working.
At least I know that win7 isn't the problem, since I co-installed mint with 7 on my dad's netbook.
