More Information

I have a strange problem...Please help me experts!

I had a stable system and for some reason there are strange crashes.

c2 e6750
xms2 corsair ram at 4x1GB (4-4-4-12)
ASUS Striker Extreme
BFG 8800 GTS 512
PCP&C 750 Watt PSU
etc.

IE crashes with many tabs open...not with a few open.
Photoshop 7 crashes when it didn't a few weeks ago!

Games and video conversion tools etc. don't crash.
Prime95 runs fine for 6+ hours.

Now what has changed you ask? Here are the details:

I updated through windows update my SATA drivers (mistake?) and my soundblaster XFi drivers...i think that the problems started there. Also, and this could be it as well, when removeing my eVGA 8800GTS 320 to exchange for the 512 BFG I bent one of the capacitors near the PCI-ex16 slot, and quickly bent it back into position...but then again games don't crash so.......ugh.

I hope it is just a driver issue BUT I CANNOT FIND THE STUPID UPGRADES IN THE ADD/REMOVE programs (sata).

Note to all:
DO NOT UPDATE DRIVERS THROUGH WINDOWS UPDATE!

I have had many problems by doing so. Always update by downloading the drivers from the manufacters website.

To uninstall or rollback drivers: right-click my computer, properties, goto hardware tab then device manager. select the component goto properties and from there you can reinstall or rollback the drivers.
