Hi all.

An intermittant problem I'm having is that after being on for about an hour, I will sometimes find the new windows I open stay on top, and certain ones stay behind, and the ones on top even stay on top of programs.

This happens even when I click on windows behind to bring them to the front, they stay behind the other ones.

To temporarily fix it I can close all windows and start again, then they behave properly.

Anybody any ideas?

Thanks.

Instead of closing all of the windows try to hit the show desktop icon. All of the windows will drop to the task bar but the progs will still be running.
Another option is to hold ALT and press TAB to pull rear windows to the front.
I know this didnt answer your question but at least it will be usable until it gets sorted out.
There are settings in windows to keep certain windows always on top but Im not sure why it would after a hour.
Is it the same windows all of the time or differing ones?

Thanks for the reply Pat.
I have never asked WinXP to keep certain windows on top, and yes, this behavior is intermittent.
I think it's different ones, but always windows showing directories on my computer.
I'll try your tricks, thanks.
