AVG 8.0 Free edition will pickup and clean 10 times better then norton and mcafee. Windows firewall is good enough if you have a router with logging and are smart about what you click on.

I agree, AVG is good, Avast is free as well and supposed to be decent. However, Comodo personal firewall is supposed to be a good firewall as well. I personally am running a combination of AVG and Comodo for my security.
