A user at my work place has a constant annoying problem with Word 2003 resetting the toolbars. She likes to change the Standard and Formatting toolbar to contain frequently used menu commands like Save As... So far we have tried the following based on a suggestion from a google result.
1. Right-click on one of your toolbars. You should see a Context menu.
2. From the Context menu, choose Customize. Word displays the Customize dialog box.
3. Make sure the Options tab is displayed.
4. Click the Reset Menu and Toolbar Usage Data button.
5. Select the Show Standard and Formatting Toolbars on Two Rows check box.
6. Click OK.
--------------------------------
Still did not work so another solution was attempted.
- Go into Word -> Tools -> Options - Tick the option save to Normal.doc template.
- Close Word - logoff
- Reopen Word and add buttons
It is STILL resetting the toolbars. Excel amazingly enough doesn't. Any ideas??
