Hi everyone!

Right ok, lets first say that maybe i shouldn't of tried RC1 version of Vista Service Pack but was curious to see what it has changed/improved!

Anyway, as soon as SP1 was installed and Vista was restarting for the final time i got a Blue Screen with the error "partmgr.sys". This now happens everytime! I try and boot Vista and also in safe mode, just after the Vista boot logo appears.

Has anyone else come across this problem yet and if so have you managed to fix it?

I thought of running startup repair from the Vista Disc or at least trying to repair the install but was uncertain due to the original install disc not being SP1! Surely that's only going to cause more problems if some files are SP1 and some are not!

Any help would be very much appreciated as otherwise i can see a rebuilt coming on :(

P.S - Remember folks to always take an image of your system first before making any major changes!!! ;-) lol

You can perform a system restore from booting off the Vista DVD. I would like to think that a system restore point was automatically created prior to SP1 being installed.

The fact that the original disk is not SP1 would not cause a problem whatsoever.

Thanks for your help coronaz but nothing worked. Guess it's going to be a rebuild after all!!

Think will wait until final release of SP1 and try it then, not before taking an image of my system first ;-) lol

Thanks Again!
