Loading linux with PnP bios

I'm trying to boot Linux Fedora 64 from the DVD on a Windows XP system. My plan is to install Linux on a second hard drive which is already installed and formatted. However, Linux seems to be stuck in the initial KDE boot screen. If I turn on PnP in the BIOS by selecting "Yes", will that help Linux to open?

  1. Please post your full specs, it'll help the people on the forums help you.

What version of fedora did you get and where did you get it from?

    Good luck :)
  2. Why don't you try and see what happens?
  3. acpi and noapic's a lot more likely to help.

The official dvd's gnome not kde.

    Semper Fi :)
