I am building my first computer and have decided to go with XP. Do you think I need to put a floppy in it or will I be ok? If so will http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6821152003 work for those moments I might need one?

my computer came with a floppy and I'll bet I havent used it in 3 or 4 years.
If it turns out you need one you can get one for about 20 bucks
I wonder if mine even works

For $7 why not? If you ever need it, you'll need it, e.g., BIOS problems or checking a hdd

If you do computer repair,a floppy is a great, for the 10 bucks or so if the mobo will support it I allways put one in

I personally would say you don't need it. Most everything is done through windows itself, or through cd rom boot discs. Most companies support flashing the bios through windows. So yeah the floppy is dead. No question about it.
