want to upgrade CPU!

Hi! I wanted to upgrade my CPU but i dont know what the fastest speed i can get is. My motherboard is a PC CHIPS M935LR with a SiS 650 Chipset. Right now i have a pentium 4 1.7ghz processor with 400mhz fsb Socket 478 , so what is the fastest chip that i can get and which will give the best performence increase? I was thinking of getting a 2.6ghz one will it work?

Looks like this board initially only supported FSB 400 models but I bet that with a bios update he can use a FSB 533 P4.

Thanks for your responses! Hey that would be great if i could use a Processor with FSB 533 since they are cheaper but how would I update my bios?

Just download the bios file and update it through a utility or a CD or floppy disk following the instructions on your motherboard's manual.
