Dark Messiah Crashes in Vista

I have 32 bit Vista home premium and Dark Messiah keeps crashing. My hardware is not an issue as all my other games work. I have both patches 1.01 and 1.02 applied and am running it in Xp SP2 compatablility mode. I also gave it full administrative access.

I have also found that when it crashes many of my saved files dissapear. I will load one of 3 files, save twice before it crashes, and find only 2 files when I go back into it.
