Hi,

I want to upgrade my hardware which has OS windows 2000 server to the motherboard 870A-G54. Does anyone knows if the motherboard 870A-G54 still supports this OS?

Can I use a SATA2 harddisk on this mother board?

My ATX form factor measures 16x4cm for the back panel connectors. Will this fits in?

Does this motherboard have an on board graphics card?

Sorry I am more of an application guy than a hardware guy, any inputs are appreciated.

There are no Windows 2000 drivers listed for that Motherboard, so you could have problems. You might be able to find drivers for all the individual chips on the board if you Google around, but you'll need SATA drivers for a start before you can install.

The motherboard doesn't have onboard graphics.

Windows 2000 is well out of support now so you may have difficulty finding drivers.

Do you think it's still possible to get a motherboard that can support windows 2000?

I really don't know. You'd need to do some research on the manufacturers' we sites. Why do you need to upgrade the motherboard? Bear in mind you'll need to install the OS from scratch. If you do have to upgrade, why not take the chance to upgrade to a more modern OS?
