I have been doing searches for this but can't really find anything on it. I do see both cores in task manager but still thinking something is wrong. Is there a patch or hotfix for the Intel C2D for XP Pro SP2 that I am forgetting to install? Any help with this would be great.

We need more information. What's wrong with the PC? What are your specs? This is way too vague to determine what you need / want.

Sorry, here is my specs:

Intel E8400
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
Corsair DDR2 1066 2x1gb
EVGA 880GT 512mb
Seagate SATA 250gb

I don't want to say there are any "problems", I was trying to find out if there is hotfix/patch that I would need to install for XP Pro SP2 when I do a reformat.

The only trouble you would have is using a 45nm chip on your mobo, but I know for a fact that the DS3L board that you have supports 45nm "Wolfdale" CPU's.

As far as I know, this is the only patch for dual-core procs: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=896256

Anyways, I doubt you have anything to worry about. Just benchmark and compare your results to someone w/ a similar setup. :p
