Waiting in the dentist's office today, browsing through a high-roller
business executive magazine. They had a section on ritzy Christmas gifts,
including a quarter-million dollar Aston Martin, a $5000 leather-covered
cell phone and...are you ready for this...a Samsung DLP. They recommended it
because they thought the pedestal was classy.
Does this mean if I buy a Sammy there will be an Aston in my driveway the
next morning?

If you bought that Samsung with the classy pedestal, where would you put
your receiver, cable box, DVR, DVD, etc. that you would otherwise put in a
stand under the TV? Would you have to stack them alongside, on a separate
shelf unit? Seems as though that would kind of destroy the aesthetic.

Sounds like the 5085. I almost bought one, until I realized that the
pedestal, while looking nice, is actually impractical. Where do you put
the A/V components and the wires?
Take note that none of the photos of the 5085 show any cables anywhere,
yet somehow, magically, there is a picture on the screen...
Marketing.
It turns out that Samsung makes a wrap-around multi-shelf table that
fits around the pedestal. It's another $500 give or take. However, it
detracts from the form of the 5085 and adds notable costs.
While I liked the image on the 5085 given the HD2+ electronics, I ended
up with a 5063 (HD3), which I do enjoy considerably.

I really think the Aston Martin is actually an accessorily available from
Samsung Parent Company and a slight shipping cost. LOL
IMHO, if it is not a Rolls Royce, why bother even attempting the feat, Eh.
Cheers and Great Holidays.

No, but if you leave yor Aston in the driveway, your neighbors will
assume you own a Sammy.

acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought,

disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

Well, I have been called an "Uber Geek" in recent times, but it has
probably been at least 30 years (in high school) since the last time I
was called a dork....
