I'm building my PC now, which I received a lot of help from people here, so thank you. I'm having problems in working out which connectors from my case connect to which pins on my motherboard (the connectors for the lights, etc).
Does anyone have any ideas please? The motherboard manual isn't very detailed on this point.
Which wires are you having troubles with? each wire has a small mark of some kind and the number of wires in a bundle will help point to which set of pins you want. It is in the Manual, but for a first timer it gets overwhelming
I'll check the wires tonight when I get home. There's a sort of 8 pin connector in the case with a load of single pin connectors sprouting out the back of it. I'll check the labelling tonight and let you know some better detail.
The 8-pin group with a bunch of wires sticking out of it might be the front panel audio connnector. You may also find 10-pin groups of similar design for USB and Firewire.
You really have to figure out which lead goes where before you can do anything with the individual pins.
You should also look at the color of the wires and match them with another computer or you motherboard manual or an internet site.
It is difficult for example to tell apart USB from Firewire without looking at the color of the wires.
