Hi

I know this article was mainly about the memory requirements of Windows Vista but I was more interested in the PAE (paged RAM support) introduced in the 32-bit version of Windows 2003 Server.

I for one would be interested in seeing a head-to-head article about Windows XP x64 and Windows 2003 Server.

I have previously run Windows 2003 Server but did not relise the 32-bit version supported >4Gb RAM (I was only running it on a 2Gb machine).

I plan to go back and do a head-to-head between Windows XP x64 and Windows 2003 Server SP2. I find Windows XP x64 to be very unstable and can be brought down by installing incompatable 32-bit software (blue-screened very easily)...

Since DirectX, etc. can be enabled in Windows 2003 Server and it supports 128Gb RAM (OK I only have 4Gb!!) maybe it offers a better alternative for systems with 4Gb+ RAM...?

Would have to relook at the ATI Catalyst and Nvidia Forceware support for this OS (using the Windows XP 32-bit drivers which are compatible).

An article by THG looking at gaming and multimedia support/benchmarking under Windows 2003 Server and Windows x64 would be appreciated. I am sure a lot of people are moving to 4Gb of RAM+ (with current prices) so it would be nice to have a comparison!!

Bob

PS I am not think about CAD designers using Photoshop (or Autocad) were presumably Adobe is moving to 64-bit processes (??) and could then break the 32-bit process RAM limitation under Windows XP x64.
