Hi there,
Can someone please tell me this. My friends laptop drive with XP on died, so if he puts in a drive full of data and puts in an XP cd will it go to try and install realize there isn't enough space and offer him a reformat option?
Thanks for any help in advance.

It would just show him the partitions and ask which one he wanted to install XP. In his case, it would probably show one large parition and let him delete it and recreate a clean one for his new XP install. No biggie.
You may want to have him find all the drivers for his laptop before he formats. Chance are that a vanilla XP CD will not have all the drivers for the laptop, and if he doesn't have them on a CD... he probably won't have internet access to download them until he gets Ethernet drivers installed. Just a concern that he may / may not want to look into.
