I have a Nvidia 5200, well one day while i was playing WOW and the card started making an extremely loud noise. I turned off my computer and then removed the card and cleaned it off and cleaned the inside of my computer. I didnt realize it was the card till i took it out and started my computer and there was no noise. Well i cleaned off the fan and i even took it apart to clean it the finest i could... still it makes the noise it doesnt get as loud if my room is cold.. can anyone help me?
Sounds like a heating problem.Have You check the other fans on the computers, maybe they're being lazy. Seriously though, they could all need cleaning, maybe even the entire case. And maybe the card might be dieing..how old is it?
1 - you have an FX5200. It's a seriously poor outdated card.
2 - you're playing WoW. No need to say more.
3 - (serious one) - it sounds ilke the bearing in the fan is going. with the price of replacement parts being almost as much as the card itself, it might be time to look for an upgrade.
The fan on the card is most likely making the noise. You can try to lubricate the bearing, replace the fan, or live with the noise until it dies and replace with a DX10 card.
